Miss Wyoming
Based in the Netherlands, with members from France, Italy, the U.K. and the Netherlands, indie-rock band Miss Wyoming is a critical homage to contemporary Western subculture.
Miss Wyoming's ability to write great songs was demonstrated by front man Pascal Hallibert, when he reached the finals of De Grote Prijs van Nederland (the largest national competition for pop music), in the singer/songwriter category. The band's most recent CD, Trailer Park, received positive reviews in local and national music press, including Musicmaker, Oor, Live XS and Stork on Stage and was chosen as demo by the week the national radio show Leidsekade Live.
The Miss Wyoming sound can be described as Shellac covering Teenage Fanclub and Velvet Underground playing Jezus Lizard songs.
In its first year, Miss Wyoming has matured into a hard working live act, bringing the songs to the audience with enthusiasm and a lot of energy and the occasional use of some more exotic instruments, the sitar for example. A Miss Wyoming performance, in a nutshell, is intense and full of energy, as witnessed by audiences in venues like (amongst other) 't Paard, Ekko, Winston Kingdom, Koornbeurs and the Plein Open festival.
